ANDERSON
PACKAGING'S PROJECT E.L.L.F. CHARITABLE GIVING CAMPAIGN DOUBLES GOAL
12-19-2008
Rockford, IL, December
18, 2008 - Anderson Packaging is pleased to report the success of its second
annual Project E.L.L.F. charitable giving campaign. The program, "Project
E.L.L.F.: Enriching the Lives of the Less Fortunate," was designed as a
grassroots holiday themed voluntary charity donation effort for company
workers. Over a three-week period, from December 1st to December 17th, workers
submitted donations to nominate teams in a cross-functional competition. Teams
raising the most money will greet workers at the plant entrances on December
22nd in holiday themed costumes at each of the company's three shifts and
multiple facilities.
"This is our second year
of the Project E.L.L.F. campaign," states Tracy Barr, Director of Customer
Project Planning at Anderson Packaging. "Last year we established a rather
modest goal of $3,500 and ended up totaling over $7,500 in individual employee
contributions. The company then matched those funds 100%, and we were able to
provide three charities each a $5,000 donation. It was really a fantastic
concept and was warmly embraced across the organization. Going into this year's
campaign we established a goal of $10,000 for employee contributions. Despite
the very challenging economy, we were astonished to find that we were able to
raise $22,000 in employee contributions. It's truly a testament to our
employee's generosity and sense of community. We could not be more pleased with
the results."
Once again, Anderson
Packaging will match the employee contributions 100%, bringing the total funds
generated to $44,000. Individual donations will be made to the Rockford Rescue
Mission, Rockford Red Cross Homeless Shelter, Rockford P.H.A.S.E./W.A.V.E., and
Patriots' Gateway Center. The company plans to continue the program as an
annual holiday event.
