ANDERSON PACKAGING'S PROJECT E.L.L.F. SETS RECORD AMOUNT IN GIVING TO LOCAL COMMUNITY
Anderson Packaging and associates donate $111,000 to Rockford area charities
ROCKFORD, IL(December 22, 2011) - Anderson Packaging, a business unit of AmerisourceBergen Consulting Group, is pleased to announce it has raised $111,000 for area charities in its 5th Annual Tracy Barr Project E.L.L.F. Charitable Giving Campaign. Project E.L.L.F., Enriching the Lives of the Less Fortunate, is a holiday-themed donation effort for company workers that will benefit seven area charities this holiday season: Rock River Valley Food Pantry, Rockford Rescue Mission, Carpenter's Place, Goldie B. Floberg Center, Remedies (formerly known as PHASE/WAVE), Rockford MELD, and the Court Street Methodist Church Thanksgiving Dinner Effort. Individual checks will be presented today, December 22, 2011 at 2:30 pm at Anderson Packaging's facility in Rockford.
Each year, Anderson Packaging employees raise money in a competition and company match program over a three-week period in December. Teams that raise the most money will greet employees in holiday-themed costumes at plant entrances on Assembly Drive and at company facilities throughout Rockford, including sites on 18th Avenue and New Milford School Road.
"The results of this campaign are tremendous," said Tim Rogowski, vice president of Information Technology and Project E.L.L.F. co-chairman. "Our associates' generosity was overwhelming - raising more than $61,000 this year. Every year they find a way to give more to the neediest in the Rockford area - and have a lot of fun in the process."
Tracy Barr, former vice president of project management and planning at Anderson Packaging cofounded the Project E.L.L.F. program in 2006. After his untimely death in early 2010, the company renamed the campaign in his memory. Over the past five years, Anderson has donated more than $325,000 to Rockford-based non-profit organizations.
